MYOPIA OR NEARSIGHTEDNESS

Myopia or nearsightedness is a very common vision condition in which you can clearly see objects near to you, but objects that are farther away appear blurry.

The degree of a person’s nearsightedness determines their ability to focus on distant objects. People with severe nearsightedness can only see objects clearly that are just a few inches away, while those with mild nearsightedness may see objects several yards away clearly.

Nearsightedness tends to be hereditary and can develop gradually or rapidly. It often worsening during childhood and adolescence but can effect people of any age.
